On Friday afternoon, a tragic plane crash near Recluse, Wyoming, resulted in the deaths of Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband Jason Clark, and their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler. The family was en route to the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska when the incident occurred. Also aboard the ill-fated flight were Amberβs husband Nathan Kistler, assistant Melodi Hodges, and pilot Larry Haynie along with his wife Melissa.

Autumn Nelon Streetman, who was not on the plane, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support. She released a brief statement thanking everyone for their “prayers that have been extended already to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be-born baby boy, as well as Jasonβs parents, Dan and Linda Clark.β

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash. Preliminary information suggests the Pilatus PC-12/47E, a single-engine turboprop, “impacted terrain following a reported autopilot issue during flight.” The investigation is in its early stages, and a team is being sent to the remote crash site to examine the aircraft.

The Nelons, renowned in the gospel music community, have recorded over 35 albums and amassed numerous accolades, including a Grammy nomination and 35 GMA Dove Award nominations.
