School Education in Sunderbani in Shambles: Attendance Manipulations Raise Concerns ๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿซ

Despite the government’s lofty promises to enhance the education system, the reality in the Sunderbani and Lower-Hathal zones of Rajouri paints a dismal picture. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Many middle and primary schools in the region are grappling with a severe shortage of teachers. The few that are present often lack sincerity in their roles. Sources indicate that in some schools, there are only two teachers on average, who manage to rotate their attendance, showing up for just three days a week. This inconsistency raises questions about their ability to effectively engage with students.

Allegations have emerged regarding the manipulation of attendance records. Reports suggest that some teachers submit false leave applications, while one teacher covers for another’s absence, claiming they are on leave. If inspections are infrequent or absent, this fraudulent attendance goes unchallenged. ๐Ÿšซ

“This system has been entrenched for years, with little to no effective oversight,” sources reveal.

The transfer fair organized by senior officials appears to have emboldened teachers, leading them to believe that no disciplinary action will be taken against them. Many teachers, especially those under the Rehbar-e-Taleem (RET) scheme, exploit this environment, knowing government policies shield them from transfers or penalties.

“There is minimal regular inspection of schools, and when inspections are scheduled, teachers are often tipped off in advance, allowing them to hide their tracks,” sources added.

The overall state of government schools continues to decline, exacerbated by the lack of accountability and transparency. Despite initiatives by both central and state governments aimed at improving education, the situation seems to worsen.

“To ensure transparency and accountability, daily tracking of these teachers’ phone locations could be a vital step forward,” suggested sources.

As the education crisis in Sunderbani unfolds, it becomes increasingly clear that urgent measures are needed to address the shortage of teachers and the manipulation of attendance records. Without proper oversight and accountability, the future of education in this region hangs in the balance. ๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ“š
